I went to a political campaign which was held in Akihabara last night. I had never seen any famous people in real life, so basically I went there just to see the Prime Minister. Although the government party is called “Liberal Democratic”, it’s actually a conservative party. Unlike Germany and other major countries in the world, people in Japan lean towards the right wing.
Before the Prime Minister showed up, a lot of assemblymen were introduced. To be honest, it was really boring. Nobody knows those guys, everyone will elect them just for the party behind them. The Prime Minister Abe Shinzo and the Minister of Finance Aso Taro eventually came out. The campaign reached a climax. The Prime Minister showed us the prosperity of the Japanese economy and the policies he would make for population decline.
Besides the campaign, the protesters drew my attention. A 10 year old boy obviously brought here by her family insulted the Prime Minister in a loud voice. I was shocked by his action. I couldn’t imagine how a child can say such dirty words in a public place to a Prime Minister of a country. Not to mention there was no way for a kid like that to know politics. It must be his family who taught him all of those things.
It was rainy that night. Going to this kind of event in such bad circumstances exhausted me. Maybe I won’t go to this kind of campaign anymore. It would be better to be given an audience with the Prime Minister or even The Emperor in a more honorable situation if I did something great in the future.
